Lee Seung Gi Finally Sues Hook Entertainment CEO, Fed Up With Agency Boss

Lee Seung Gi Finally Sues Hook Entertainment CEO, Sick of Being Bullied by Agency Bosses, Just Realized Not Only Singing's Salary Is Corrupted

Singer-actor Lee Seung Gi finally filed a lawsuit against Hook Entertainment's CEO, Kwok Jin Young.

Today, Thursday (22/12/2022), representative of Lee Seung Gi's attorney confirmed the news to the public.

Lee Seung Gi filed his lawsuit against Kwon Jin Young at the Seoul Central District police station.

"As has been reported in the media several times, HOOK Entertainment has been hiding the truth about the profits from Lee Seung Gi's music for the past 18 years and not paying him for it," said attorney Lee Seung Gi's representative quoted from Soompi.

"In this regard, we filed a legal complaint against Hook Entertainment CEO Kwon Jin Young and the finance director for alleged violations of the Law on Special Economic crimes (embezzlement of employment) and certain economic crimes (fraud)," he continued.

The legal team found that the company HOOK Entertainment apparently also embezzled part of Lee Seung Gi's pay as a CF model.

"Lee Seung Gi believes that about 10 percent is paid to advertising agencies under the title 'agency commission'."

"But it turns out that in reality, the former and current director of Hook Entertainment did not pay part of the agency's commission to the ad company, instead dividing part (of the money) into their own instead," said attorney representative Lee Seung Gi.

When Lee Seung Gi exposed the matter to the public, Hook Entertainment finally admitted the truth on December 16, 2022.

Hook Entertainment admitted that he gave her a delayed payment of about 630 million KRW.

For this action, Lee Seung Gi sued Kwon Jin Young and 3 directors for fraud and embezzlement.

The legal team confirmed that Lee Seung Gi has not reached an agreement with Hook Entertainment regarding music pay.

"Even so, on December 16, 2022 this morning, Hook Entertainment unannounced has already remitted 4.81 billion won for embezzled music and advertising payments."

"They also unilaterally confirmed that there is no debt to Lee Seung Gi," the team of attorneys said.

In fact, the number of settlements submitted unilaterally by Hook Entertainment is much different from what Lee Seung Gi knows.

"Simultaneously responding to the lawsuit for confirmation of the absence of debt, we will file a counterclaim."

"We plan to seek damages against Hook and his related personnel for unpaid music costs and illegal acts," the attorney said.

Previously, Hook Entertainmant stated that the agency had transferred Lee Seung Gi an unpaid fee of 2.9 billion Won.

That is coupled with 1.2 billion won, interest from the delay in payment.

After that, Lee Seung Gi announced that all those payments would be donated.
