Repsol Honda star Marc Marquez is reportedly in disappointment with his own team.
That sentence did not come out of Marc's mouth. However, from his younger brother who is also MotoGP rider Alex Marquez.
In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Alex recounted that his brother was deeply disappointed with Honda.
It comes after testing out the latest prototype bike he will use for the 2023 season at the post season test in Valencia last month.
So angry, Alex said Marc looked gloomy. Marc didn't say much when the two were in the same car on the way home from the test.
''It's very clear he's angry. When I asked him if there were no new things he tried, he mentioned there was, but nothing worked well,'' Alex said as reported by Crash.
Throughout last season, Honda's performance in MotoGP was indeed plummeting. In fact, at the German GP it was noted that none of their bikes, either from the factory or satellite teams, were able to finish by scoring points.
That left Honda's record of always managing to score points at every race in the last 40 years broken.
The fact of Honda's latest bike not working to its full potential in last month's pre-season test, it seems, is making Marc even more upset.
Moreover, after recovering from a long injury, Marc still has big ambitions to clinch his seventh MotoGP world title of his career.
That record would see him match the number of titles Valentino Rossi has in the class.
Throughout history, the most premier-class world champions are still held by Giacomo Agostini with eight times being champions.
On a separate occasion, Marc also began to dare to open up about his future plans at Honda. He said he would always be respectful to the Japanese manufacturer.
However, he also admitted that he did not rule out the possibility of changing teams. That's if Honda can't provide a mount that allows it to compete for the world title again.
''Honda is still Honda. I dream of being able to race for this team forever. But, I also have a bigger dream, which is to become a world champion again. Regarding my future, no one knows yet. Including myself,'' Marc said as reported by Motorsport.
Honda still has time to fix its latest bike. The next pre-season test takes place in Sepang on February 5–7 for a shakedown test.
It continues on 10–12 February at the same location for official testing for all drivers.
