The Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Monday (12/26/2022) reported that the Translation Department of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques has supervised the translation.
Saleh Al-Rashedi, the department's director, said Islamic lessons are now available in 14 languages.
The goal of the project is to help non-Arab speakers attend those classes at the Grand Mosque, he said.
Al-Rashedi said other languages available are English, Urdu, French, Hausa, Turkish, Malay, Indonesian, Tamil, Hindi, Bengali, Persian, Russian and Turkish.
He said more than 7,000 people use the service every month.
Either through simultaneous translations of lessons, or through quotes published on social media by the general presidency.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah recently launched a short film, The Journey of a Lifetime to educate pilgrims about manasik.
The project, under the auspices of the Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah.
Where, it is played in nine languages, Arabic, English, Urdu, French, Bengali, Farsi, Hausa, Indonesian, and Turkish.
It was filmed in more than 14 locations in seven weeks with more than 800 actors.
It will also be featured by Saudia on its in-flight entertainment system, and is part of an agreement between the airline and the Awqaf General Authority, said Saudi Hajj deputy minister Hisham Saeed.
He said he focused on all the rituals the pilgrims performed, from the moment they left home.
In addition, the Hajj and Umrah channels provide additional features, including the Hajj and Umrah Education Guide Program which includes 13 guides launched last year," he added.
The guide provides educational guidelines on hajj and umrah manasik, wearing ihram, and archaeological and historical places in the Kingdom," he said.
Another guide explained among other things to spend a day in Mina and the ban (during) hajj, he added.
The film will offer pilgrims guidance on mandatory rituals, events and locations, including Arafah Day, Eid al-Adha, Tashreeq days, congested areas, Jamarat Bridge opening hours, and several Islamic sites.
It also features ongoing development projects, flight times, and schedules of the Al-Haramain Express Train, which connects Mecca, Medina, and Jeddah.
