Electric cars use batteries as components that store electric current.
Even though it is covered by a warranty, the presence of batteries in electric cars must also be considered for maintenance so that damage does not occur.
What are the things to know in the maintenance of an electric car battery?
Charging
Sugiartono, Technical Manager Before Service Department of PT Hyundai Motors Indonesia (HMID) suggests charging electric car batteries using AC electric current.
"The AC electric current charger is obtained from a device from a wall box or portable charger built into the car," said Sugiartono.
According to him, AC electric current has a low and stable electric current voltage.
Indeed, charging AC electric current takes a long time but the battery is safe from overheating.
"Charging DC electric current from a fast charger can be faster, but the battery is hotter because it absorbs excess electric current," explained Sugiartono.
Cooling System
Most electric cars still have a cooling system like combustion engine cars.
There is a reservoir tube filled with coolant liquid that flows into the battery pack cooling line.
"That's why electric cars still have periodic service, one of which is to check the coolant of the battery," said Sugiartono.
"As long as the electric car is working, the battery temperature will increase, this coolant will keep the temperature from overheating," he explained.
Battery Capacity

"Sel baterai yang terus kosong usia pakainya lebih cepat," imbuhnya.
Ditambah, kapasitas baterai yang lebih rendah membuat daya charging dan waktu yang dibutuhkan lebih tinggi dan lama.
