Honda USA will supply an F1 power unit to Aston Martin in 2026.

Additionally, its employees will be working as race support personnel at circuits alongside the Silverstone-based crew.

The company formerly known as Honda Performance Development has rebranded as Honda Racing Corporation USA as of right now. The announcement of this change was made back in September.

As the US division increases its participation in the company's international initiatives, the shift reflects greater relations with HRC Japan.

According to Honda, "the new HRC US will be involved in F1 power unit development and race support starting in 2026, with three F1 races currently in the US."

The FIA's power unit funding laws, which went into effect on January 1st of this year, will govern any R&D investment from the US side and will accompany the new standard engines that will be raced starting in 2026.

Put another way, the amount of resources that HRC Japan may deploy will be limited as a result of the need to properly account for work done on the F1 project in the USA within the power unit cost restriction.
