For those of you who love shooting using smartphones, it's definitely familiar with Google's cloud services, Photos.Nowadays, data storage using the cloud is felt safer, because computing companies typically don't provide outside parties with the opportunity to access data stored in the cloud.
Not only that, external storage media such as memory cards, hard drives, and SSDS (solid state drives) are also susceptible to damage.
In addition to free storage, Google also uses artificial intelligence (AI) based image analysis to organize your photos and videos, making it easier to find and edit.
So, what if you want to back up photos and videos to a Google cloud storage service, and access them from a variety of mobile devices?
As quoted Tekno Liputan6.com from Digital Trends on Tuesday (23/7/2019), here are some tips you can do to save photos and videos to Google Photos using your iOS, Android, and desktop devices.
1. Install the Google Photos app
To use Google Photo on Your iPhone or Android smartphone, make sure you've downloaded the app from the App Store or Google Play Store.
For those of you who use MAC or Windows, you need to first set the application to automatically reveal images and other files from your computer to the Photos app.
Once opened, a Google Photos icon will appear in the browser's top menu bar. You can control it through the Preferences.
2. Access Backup and Sync settings on Mobile
Open the Google Photos app on your iOS and Android phone, select Settings from the main menu and select Backup & Sync.
Here, you can activate auto backup and set the upload file size. High Quality will save an unlimited number of images and video up to 16MP for free.
More than 16MP will be compressed in the cloud, but not on your desktop or device.
3. Select Backup via Data plan or Wi-Fi
You can choose to upload your content through an ATA plan or via Wi-Fi. If you have an unlimited data plan, you don't have to worry about running out of quota.
But it also has limited data quota, it is good to disable the mobile settings so that the upload process is done via Wi-Fi.
Very easy is not it? Good luck
